Some people interpret the Old Testament book of Numbers chapter 5 as a prescription for abortion. To test this idea, a pregnant woman would need holy water in a clay jar and dust from the Tabernacle floor, but the Tabernacle no longer exists.
But of greater import is that this passage makes no mention of pregnancy.
This passage provides instructions for a jealousy offering. If the woman was not pregnant but had committed adultery, the procedure would still work. The procedure was a supernatural experience because only God and the woman (and her lover if she were guilty) knew whether she had been unfaithful.
